Pampered Pets Birthday Cards

Hello Lovelies and welcome!! Today I am going to share two birthday cards I have made using the Pampered Pets stamp set. This stamp set is part of the fun Playful Pets product suite and is one of my favourites!! Not only is this suite super fun but it is perfect for dog and cat lovers alike! Check out all of the cute elements that make up this must-have suite!!

The Playful Pets birthday cards that I want to share with you today are made simple with these fabulous products!

As you can see, both of these cards are made using the same sketch. These cards would be great to give to the cat or dog lovers in your life! And how about that clever little saying …. I hope your day is a real treat. It just compliments these images beautifully.

Dog birthday card with Pampered Pets

That adorable little terrier … he is cut right from the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper using the Pets Dies…isn’t that super convenient!! Besides the stamps, dies and paper I have also used the trinkets and baker’s twine from this suite to make this card. A great card for any of your dog loving friends!!

On the other hand this card is purr-fect for your feline loving friends!! Similarly I cut the fabulous kitty image right out of the Playful Pets DSP however this time I used my paper snips to fussy cut her out. I adhered a few basic rhinestones for some bling then coloured them black with my Stampin’ Blends.

Not only do I love how these cards turned out but I also love how simple they were to make. Using the Playful pets suite as well as the Stitched Nested Labels dies these cards came together in a snap.

Playful Pets for Scrapbooking too

A few weeks ago I shared a layout I made for the Scrapbooking Global Stampin Up! blog hop using this same suite. These projects demonstrate how versatile these products really are … whether you are card-making or scrapbooking these are must-haves for your crafting collection!1!

Ornate Style Colour Challenge

Hello and welcome! Today I want to share with you the project for this week’s creative challenge. I used the Ornate Style stamp set to meet the Colour Challenge for week #11.

Ornate Garden Stamp Set

These flowers are perfect for the colour combo of the week: Magenta Madness, Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party.

Creative Challenge #11 Project

Card Stock Measurements:

  • Magenta Madness card base 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
  • Pool Party cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″
  • Basic Black 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″
  • Whisper White measures 5″ x 3-3/4″ for the front, 5-1/4″ x 4″ for the insert
  • Pear Pizzazz scrap large enough for the floral image

Ornate Style Colour Challenge Card Steps:

Using Tuxedo Black Memento ink I stamped the large floral image on the centre of the Whisper White cardstock and onto the scrap of Pear Pizzazz. Next I coloured the beautiful flowers using my Stampin’ Blends; Magenta Madness, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight.

From the image stamped on Pear Pizzazz I fussy cut all of the leaves. Using Multipurpose liquid glue I attached the leaves on top of the uncoloured leaves on the card front. Once the glue dried I embossed the Whisper White piece using the Scripty 3D embossing folder.

After adhering the Pool Party, Basic Black and Whisper White stamped pieces together I finished it off with some ribbon. I wrapped a piece of Black Glittered Organdy ribbon across the bottom and then tied a cute little bow and adhered it with a glue dot. This ribbon adds texture and bling all at once… love that!!

I hope that my weekly Creative Challenges are helping to motivate you to spend a little time in your creative space each week. I am looking forward to seeing all of the projects made with this week’s Colour Challenge!!

Thanks for popping in today!! Take care, stay safe and be creative!!

Senior Years

Hello and welcome! Today I have a pair of His and Hers retirement cards to share with you using the Senior Years stamp set.

Senior Years Retirement cards

The Senior Years stamp set is filled with funny age-reference sentiments and these two adorable images. Using just this stamp set you can make some fantastic birthday and retirement cards. Just add in some other sayings and the possibilities with these images will be endless!

Senior Years stamp set

His & Hers Senior Years Retirement Cards

Starting with a card I had seen on Pinterest I created this fun masculine retirement card. I used the inked embossing folder technique to get make the brick background. To do this you simply ink the raised side of your embossing folder before running it through your embossing machine. I love how it gives that distress look to the brick and it is super easy to clean … just rinse folder under water and dry!!

With the Stitched Rectangles dies I cut out three rectangles in different sizes and layered them together. Using the stitched banner die included with the Tasteful Labels dies I cut out the retirement sentiment on Just Jade.

I “bumped” up the sweet little banner with dimensionals and then pulled out my Stampin’ Blends to colour! I just love how it turned out 🙂

Next I created this pretty feminine retirement card in much the same manner.

I used a softer colour scheme of Petal Pink, Seaside Spray, Misty Moonlight and Calypso Coral. This is one of my go-to colour combinations at the moment!

To add a little humour and to complete the card I have stamped the inside of both cards.

Thank you so much for popping in today! I will include a full list of the products I used to make both of these cards at the end of my post.

Scrapbooking Global July 2020 Blog Hop

Hello and welcome! Today I am super excited to share with you my layout for the Scrapbooking Global July 2020 Blog Hop.

This month’s theme was chosen by Design Team Member Mai Chapelain.

Mai has chosen “Monochromatic” as July’s theme.

At first I wasn’t sure where to go with this theme. I typically use a variety of colours to offset one another in my designs. This was a fun challenge for me… sticking to shades of just one colour!

My “Teal” Monochromatic Blog Hop Layout

Whale of A Time Monochramitic Scapbook Layout Stampin' Up!

I have absolutely fallen in love with the Whale Of A Time product suite in the Annual Catalogue. Everything about it is fabulous … it is adorable, has sparkle and is super fun!

The monochromatic colour scheme that I used is Pretty Peacock, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Pool Party. I added in a couple of additional Stampin’ Up! products in addition to the ones found in this suite. I’ll show you those right up close!!

Here I have used the Stitched Triangle dies. These are so versatile and the stitched edges give them the perfect finishing touch! Those adorable whales are cut out of the Designer Series Paper … and bonus – the largest one fits perfectly in the punch! I have tucked in some of the beautiful shimmery ribbon and added a few sequins to add the right amount of under the sea sparkle.

In this corner of my layout I have incorporated the sea foliage die from the Smooth Sailing Dies. There are 4 in total, cut out of Pool Party cardstock and the lovely Rainbow Glimmer sheets. Cute Mr. Turtle was also cut out of the Designer Series Paper … he is so stinkin’ cute.

Lastly, I used the Tailored Tag punch to flag the end of this title banner. The Whale Done stamp set is filled with awesome sentiments that can be used for both scrapbooking and cardmaking. The versatility of this whole suite is limitless.

Now I just need to find the right photos to complete the layout!!

I hope that you have enjoyed my post and the monochromatic layout that I have designed. Thank you so much for stopping in today! Up next in our Scrapbooking Global July 2020 Blog Hop is the lovely Libby Dyson from Australia.

Summer Lovin’ with Seaside Notions

Hello and welcome! Today I want to share a little Summer Lovin’ with Seaside Notions stamp set. This returning stamp set is one of my all time favourites!!

Especially at this time of the year we would all love to be hanging out by the seaside. With the Seaside Notions stamp set, you can create the seaside from your craft room with shells, coral, sand, and seahorses galore!  I adore this set with it’s sketch style lines and fabulous sea images.

Mirror Image Stamping Technique

I was able to create the reverse stamp of the seahorse by using the mirror image stamping technique. If you haven’t tried this technique before check out the video I created showing just how simple it is!

Using my much loved Stampin’ Blends I coloured the beautiful seahorses and shells. The colour combo that I have chosen is Seaside Spray, Petal Pink and Crumb Cake,

To add some extra interest I popped in a new Square Vellum Doily in behind the images. I love how this adds a soft, subtle touch to my card. Fussy cutting the stamped shells out was a breeze and they are so pretty!

Can you see that amazing embossed crumb cake layer? I have used the Seabed 3D embossing folder from the Whale Of A Time product suite. It pairs beautifully with the Seaside Notions stamp set.

To finish the card off I brought in a few additional products. I punched the tiny little hearts out using the Dog punch and the sentiment is from the Forever Blossoms stamp set.

I am delighted with the way that this card has turned out, all of the elements came together so well.

Thank you for stopping by today, I am so happy that you did. I hope that you enjoyed this Summer Lovin’ with Seaside Notions post and that my creation has inspired you for a little crafting time of your own.
