Back on Your Feet

Hello and thank you for popping in to check out my post for the day!!

Today’s post showcases some simple cards. I used just the basics… paper, stamps, ink and markers.

I think that the sentiments included with the Back on Your Feet stamp set are perfect for the state of the world right now. In addition, the images will brighten anyone’s day!

Cute right? Here are the three simple cards that I created.

As promised the cards are super simple. I’ve been trying to decide on my favourite … but I can’t choose. Which do you like best?

The coloured animals and the sentiments on each card are stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I used Sahara Sand to stamp the random little guys.

Let’s Colour …

I coloured the animals with my Stampin’ Blends. Have I told you how much I love these markers? Here’s a close up of each with a list of the Stampin’ Blends that I used for each of them.

Sweet Friend

Today I want to share with you another adorable Easter card that I created. I am taking advantage of this extra time at home and getting all of my Easter cards done and ready to send out. This year I think that my friends and family will appreciate some happy mail more than ever!!

Today’s card that I am sharing with you features the super fun Fable Friends stamp set.

Fable Friends (148670) $30.00 – Annual Catalogue

I can not resist these cute little animal images, they are perfect for Easter!!

I chose to use the bunny image for my card today. He is so adorable and reminds me of Peter Rabbit in the Beatrix Potter books I loved as a child.

I coloured Mr. Rabbit with my Stampin Blends markers … Crumb Cake, Gray Granite, Flirty Flamingo and Balmy Blue. I then fussy cut him out and bumped him up onto the lovely stitched shape from the Wild Rose framelit dies.

The Sweet Friend sentiment is part of the Welcome Easter stamp set in the January – June 2020 Mini Catalogue. I have stamped it using Crumb Cake ink and cut it out using the Stitched So Sweetly dies, I love the stitched edging!!

To finish the card off I added six of these beautiful spring flowers. These are stamped using the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set and punched out with the Small Bloom punch. Both of these items are available for free when you spend $60 or $120 during Sale-a-Bration promotion.

The flowers are stamped in So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Pool Party. To get the 3D look for the flowers I put them in the palm of my hand and press into the middle of them using the back end of a pen. To complete each flower I added a small pearl to the center.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope that today’s post has inspired you to do a little crafting/stamping of your own. Let’s make the best of our extra time at home one craft project at a time πŸ˜‰

Sending hugs … take care and stay safe!

Spooktacular Coffin Wreath

Welcome to my blog! Thank you for stopping by to visit!

Today I want to share with you my version of the Halloween wreath made from the Coffin Treat Boxes found on page 53 of the 2019 Holiday Catalogue. I cased the wreath shown in the Holiday catalogue but added just a touch of my own flare.

To make the wreath it took 24 of the coffin treat boxes (2 packages). The boxes themselves are very simple to put together as they come pre-cut and scored for you. Just add some glue, fold and presto … a fun and spooky coffin box!!

I didn’t want to leave the boxes plain black as they came so I ran 12 of the lids through my Big Shot using the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder before I assembled them.

For 6 of the remaining boxes I added spider web patterned paper from the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper, To do this I assembled the base of one of the Coffin Treat boxes and traced it onto the patterned paper and cut it out … this fit perfectly onto the lid of the treat box!!

After all of the Coffin Treat Boxes were assembled I used a sponge dauber and my Delicata Metallic Ink pad in Silvery Shimmer and distressed the edges and a bit across the top of all 24 lids, The next step was to glue the lids onto the coffin base and then to adhere all of the coffins together to form the wreath. I found that a hot glue gun worked best for this step.

To finish it off I added a focal point. I tied bows using Basic Black Satin Ribbon, Basic Black Scalloped Edge Ribbon and Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon. In the center of the large bows I added a Haunted House image cut from the Monster Bash Designer Series Paper, distressed the edges with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and attached it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a Starburst punched out of Basic Black.

And my project is complete! I think this will be a frightful addition to my front door leading up to Halloween.

Sprinkles of Colour

Hello and welcome to my blog… Thank you for popping by!

Today I want to introduce you to the super fun Pigment Sprinkles, they are absolutely fabulous!

Image of Pigment Sprinkles product

What are Pigment Sprinkles?

Pigment Sprinkles are watercolour pigment crystals in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colours. Mix them with water to make watercolour backgrounds and washes, and use them for other watercolouring techniques. The possibilities are endless.

These crystals come in 6 beautiful Stampin’ UP! colours: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Mango Melody and Melon Mambo.

Let’s Create …

The other night I sat down to give these amazing products a try and I was so thrilled with the results.

I thought that the Monster images from the Boo To You stamp set went perfectly with the colourful backgrounds that I created. To create the backgrounds was really easy … I simply sprinkled a little of the pigment crystals in a variety of colours and spritzed with water. Voila!!

In this card I spritzed just a small amount of water. You’ll notice that there are still some white spots showing through and the crystals aren’t all completely blended.

I sprayed just a little more water when I created this background. You can see that the crystals are more blended and there is very little white paper showing through. Same technique just more water.

Lastly, when I made this background I added quite a bit of water and as you can see the colour crystals all blended together and give a more saturated colourful background.

I love that there are lots of options and that no 2 backgrounds will ever be identical. Not only do I love the way they turned out, but it was so much fun to watch all the sprinkles come to life in these beautiful bursts of colour!!

Give them a try

If you would like to give these Pigment Sprinkles a try you can order a set of your own from my online store. Use September’s host code MZ2QX6CZ and you will be entered to win a little something from the Holiday catalogue.
