Stampin’ UP! released today that they will be retiring two very popular products with the release of the new Annual catalogue in June.
We will be saying farewell to the Big Shot and the Stampin’ Trimmer.
I love both of these products and am sad to see them being retired, however, I am excited to see what Stampin’ UP! has in store for us down the road 🙂
If you have either of these products and would like to stock on any of their accessories please let me know. I am placing an order tonight (Tuesday) and Thursday night. You can also order directly online anytime, remember to enter April’s host code 9XWKWPBS before checking out.

Hello and Welcome to my blog!! Today I am excited to share my layout design for this month’s blog hop … Our challenge was “Mixed Media”.
Scrapbooking Global Guest Designer for March is Nature Gibner. Her choice of theme for the month was definitely a challenge for me. Mixed Media is not something that I have played around with much in the past … but it sure was FUN!!
When I began thinking about what I would use to design this type of layout the first product that came to mind was Brusho Crystal Colours and secondly (and for sure one of my favourites) was the Classic Garage Product Suite.
Here is my Mixed Media layout …
As you can see there are lots of layers to this one. I started with a 12 x 12 sheet of Whisper White cardstock and sprinkled three shades of Brusho Crystal Colours diagonally down the center of the sheet and then sprayed it with water! Presto! Such a beautiful streak of colours … just what I was hoping for 🙂
I tore the corners of the Whisper White cardstock and put the whole page on a 12 x 12 sheet of Basic Black with a little Classic Garage Designer Series Paper tucked in behind. The square frames are cut from different sheets of the same Designer Series Paper stack and layered up in behind. Notice the fabulous metal embellies? Aren’t they just fantastic … the little key and wrench … Love them!!
I used Silver Foil Sheets to cut the gear dies from the Garage Gear thinlits. The cars and all of the round meters are fussy cut from the Classic Garage Designer Series Paper.
Thanks for Stopping by
I hope that you enjoyed my layout and find a little creative inspiration for your next project. Be sure to click on next and hop on over to see what the talented Sharni Haines has to share with you for her take on the Multi Media Challenge 🙂
Today I would like to share with you a couple of cards that I have created using one of my favourite stamp sets from the Annual Catalogue.
This Little Piggy stamp set is so darn adorable I just can’t help but smile each time I use it.
Aren’t they sweet? The first card that I am going to share with you was designed for my In-Colour club last month. Our feature colour was Powder Pink and with Valentine’s Day in February this card was perfect!
Hogs & Kisses
I started by stamping the beautiful floral image from the Wood Words stamp set in Powder Pink and then just layered, layered, layered!
To make that super cute little piggy really pop, I stamped it on Powder Pink cardstock with Tuxedo Black memento ink and then highlighted the lines using the dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends.
I couldn’t resist adding the little heart from the Dog Bulider Punch in Lovely Lipstick cardstock. I am so pleased with the way that this card turned out.
… So She Did
This next card I created while at my Sweet Winter Weekend crop a couple of weekends ago. Again I couldn’t resist using the sweet little piggy 🙂
I just love the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper and think that it paired so beautifully with the colours and feel of the flying pig. For the colour combination on this card I used Mint Macaron, Grapefruit Grove and Whisper White.
A close up of this little cutie! Once again I stamped the image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink this time onto Petal Pink cardstock. I used Stampin’ Blends to colour and highlight in order to really bring the image to life. The inside of the card is simply stamped with “so she did”. A very simple card with a wonderful message.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope you enjoyed today’s creative inspirations.
