Make a Cute Scarecrow Fall Card with Fun for Fall

This week’s card is definitely something to crow about! I used the adorable Fun for Fall Bundle to create this cheerful little scarecrow scene, complete with corn stalks, hay bales and three very curious crows.

This isn’t one of my quick and simple cards. It has all the bells and whistles, but every little detail was so much fun to create!

A Fun Fall Colour Combination

I pulled together an array of yellows, greens and browns for this card, with a little Blueberry Bushel added for an unexpected pop of colour.

The Golden Glow layer started as plain cardstock, so I stamped the tiny leaves in Golden Glow and Early Espresso to create my own patterned paper. Sometimes it’s nice to set the Designer Series Paper aside and simply put ink to paper!

Building the Scarecrow Scene

The Basic White Everyday Arches die-cut gave me the perfect place to build my scene. I stamped grass along the bottom in Old Olive, using second-generation stamping to add a little depth.

The scarecrow, crows and hay bale were stamped in black, die-cut and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. One little colouring tip from the live: I used Light Basic Black with Dark Smoky Slate on the crows. The Dark Basic Black can hide some of the stamped details, and these little guys are far too cute to lose their personality!

Once everything was coloured, I layered the pieces together with plenty of bump-its. If you plan to mail your card, you may want to glue the arch flat to avoid extra postage. Apparently, I prefer dimension over sensible postage decisions. 😂

Card Measurements

  • Darling Duckling card base: 8-1/2″ × 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″

Don’t Forget the Inside!

You know I don’t like naked card insides! I added a stack of coloured hay bales, one talkative little crow and the “Hoping your day is wonderful” greeting.

If you don’t have the Fun for Fall Bundle, shop your stash and make the idea your own. The retired Hey Chick Bundle would be absolutely adorable with this layout too!
