One Card Sketch, Three Different Cards!
Looking for fresh card sketch ideas to inspire your creativity? I love how one simple sketch can lead to so many different designs. It’s a starting point, not a set of rules, and that’s where the fun begins!
For this creative adventure, I took one simple card sketch and turned it into three completely different handmade cards! A little layering, a few changes, and even a turn of the sketch show just how versatile one design can be.

One Sketch, So Many Possibilities

The beauty of a card sketch is that it’s a guide, not a rulebook! You can follow it exactly, add extra layers, change the colours, or turn it in a completely different direction.
Here’s how I played with this one.
Card 1: Keep It Simple

For my first card, I stayed pretty close to the original sketch using the adorable Cutest Crew stamp set from Stampin’ Up!
A little embossing, some pretty pinks, and a touch of ribbon added texture and dimension without changing the basic design.
Card 2: Add a Few Layers

Next, I went shopping in my stash and pulled out the retired Little Ladybug stamp set.
This time I added a couple of extra layers and extended the banner across the card. Such simple changes, but look how different it feels!
And isn’t that little ladybug just the sweetest?
Card 3: Turn It Around

For the third card, I turned the sketch sideways and stretched the design into a landscape card.
Using the Lovely Florals stamp set, some patterned paper, and soft Petal Pink and Pecan Pie colours, I created a completely different look while still following the inspiration of the original sketch.
That’s what I love about sketches. The possibilities really are endless!
