Today I have a fun and easy ribbon technique to share with you. To demonstrate this technique I chose the Sketched Butterflies bundle from the 2024 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. It’s a perfect fit and one of my top picks from the new catalogue. You can purchase it through my online store by clicking HERE.

It’s no secret that I love to add texture to my projects with ribbon, twine and linen thread. Today I am going to show you a fun little technique that is great for using up little bits of leftover ribbon.

I didn’t have any little bits of ribbon hanging around my craft desk this morning so I chose to use the new Bordered Ribbon in three of the new In Colors. I seriously can not get enough of these super pretty new colours. The more I use them the more I love them ❤️ I have a full video tutorial for you to follow along with to make this card and learn this technique… keep scrolling a little further.

LET’S MAKE THIS Sketched Butterflies Ribbon card
If you would like to see how I made today’s ribbon technique card and recreate one of your own just click on the YouTube video thumbnail below. If you enjoy the video please click on the thumbs-up button, subscribe to my channel and share with your friends! I appreciate it when you take the time to do this because it helps others to find me and stamp along with us online too❤️.
Here are the cardstock and Designer Series Paper measurements you’ll want to recreate this card.
- Basic White Thick card base: 4-1/4 x 11 scored at 5-1/2
- Basic Black cardstock: 3-1/4 x 4-1/4
- Basic White cardstock: 3 x 4
- Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper: 4 x 5-1/4
I originally designed this card a little differently. I had the ribbon strips going straight up and down rather than diagonal and used Peach Pie instead of Summer Splash. I also changed the amount and pattern of the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper that I used on each card. I think that both turned out beautiful. With this simple ribbon technique the possibilities really are endless! I hope you feel inspired to give it a try.
