Festive Friday Challenge #171: Odd Socks Day • Birdsnest Designs

It’s time for a Festive Friday Challenge! I am honored to have been asked to be part of the Festive Friday Design Team and am excited that this is the first one for me!!

What is the Festive Friday Challenge? Every second Friday we post a challenge for you with a specific theme and an Inspo (Inspirations) List. The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project. Pick three of these items to create your project and link up! #festivefridaychallenge Odd Socks Day is this week’s theme but guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about Odd Socks Day at all! I hope you’ll join in on the fun and make a card, scrapbook page or 3-D item for this week’s challenge!

What a fun inspiration list this was to choose from. I actually had a hard time choosing just three but eventually decided on square card, kindness and sequins. I haven’t made a square card in a long time and love how this one turned out.

Let’s make this card using the Friends For Life bundle

Cut a 5 x 10 piece of Basic White Thick cardstock fold it in half to make a 5 x 5 card base
Cut a 4-3/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Full of Life Designer Series Paper and adhere it to the card front
On Basic White cardstock stamp 4 branches of leaves, the word FRIEND with Tuxedo Black Memento ink
Die cut the leaves and word with the Friends For Life dies
Colour the leaves with Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends
From Basic White cardstock die cut the label from the Iconic Imagery dies
Stamp YOUR KINDNESS IS SO APPRECIATED, from the So Sincere stamp set, on to the label with black ink
Using about 18″ of Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon tie a large bow
Adhere the large bow to the back of the sentiment stamped label and adhere centered on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals
Add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of each of the branches of leaves and add them to the card, tucking the ends in behind the label
Add the die cut FRIEND word to the label with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and top it off by brushing a layer of Wink of Stella over the letters
Sprinkle 5 sequins from the Adhesive Backed Sequin Trio pack to the card front to finish it off
