Today I am excited to share the first project using this week’s product of the week, Whimsical Trees. The card I have created for today combines the Whimsical Trees & Happy Holly-Days stamp sets both from the July – December Mini Catalogue.
I love pink and so the Whimsy & Wonder Suite really caught my eye, its such a pretty collection!
Today’s card is quick and simple. I started with a Blushing Bride card base and added a layer (4″ x 5-1/4″) of Gray Granite cardstock and another layer (3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″) of Basic White. Next I cut a piece of the gorgeous Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper (3-3/4″ x 5″) to adhere on top using Stampin’ Seal.
This card design could work with any of the patterns found in the Whimsy & Wonder DSP. I chose the piece with the Blushing Bride background and the pretty white and silver foil snowflakes because it is so pretty!
Next I cut the large tree image from the Christmas Tree Dies out of Gray Granite cardstock and then embossed it using the Pine Boughs from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders. To create the garland for the tree I used a piece of adhesive sheet stuck to the back of Blushing Bride cardstock and die cut the garland. Using adhesive sheets is a quick and easy way to adhere these thin, intricate die cuts. After adhering the garland to the tree I attached it to my card front.
Although there are no ornaments on the Christmas Tree I did want to include some on today’s card. On a piece of Basic White cardstock I stamped the cluster of 3 ornaments from the Whimsical Trees stamp set using Gray Granite ink, then die cut it with the coordinating shape from the Christmas Tree Dies.
I found this lovely greeting stamp in the Happy Holly-Days stamp set and it is perfect for this card. Stamped in Gray Granite ink onto a 3/4″ strip of Basic White cardstock then attached to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Lastly I added the die cut ornaments and a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to add a little more sparkle!
