Hello and welcome. I am so glad that you have popped in today!
Spring is here. I love hearing all the little birds singing in the early morning. One of my favourite Suites from the current 2019-2021 Annual Catalogue is Bird Ballad. I love everything from the beautiful imagery in the stamp set, the fun soft colours in the Designer Series Paper and the versatility of the Stitched Nested Labels dies. Using this product suite you can create anything from fun & whimsical to purely elegant!

Today I want to share with you the lovely Laser-Cut cards that come as part of this suite. They are fabulous!! Just look at how pretty they are all on their own in that photo above … Love them!
I sat down the other night to create a few cards to send out. I find I am sending out quite a few more cards lately …. Random Acts of Kindness I guess you could say 🙂 Nothing like receiving a handmade card to brighten your day!!
Let’s Get Creative!
I pulled out my Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards from their stunning Petal Pink tin (did you see that beauty in the top photo?) and created two different cards.
The first card I left the intricate front of the card intact. I chose Pool Party cardstock and layered that on the inside of the card front. This really makes the laser cut design ‘pop’! To adhere this I used a thin line of Multi-Purpose adhesive and cut the cardstock just slightly, (1/8″), smaller than the card itself. This works perfectly and I didn’t get any excess adhesive seeping through.

Next I cut a strip of the pretty Designer Series Paper 2″ wide and flagged it using the Triple Banner punch and adhered it straight on to the front of the card. I used the Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles dies to cut out the circles and the scallop circle using Very Vanilla, Pool Party and Soft Suede cardstock.
Now for those amazing birds!! I fussy cut those darling little birdies straight from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. They are adorable and not too hard to cut 🙂
I pulled out my Butterfly Gala stamp set for the sentiment on the card. This particular one “You’ve been on my mind” was very appropriate for the cards I was creating. I stamped it with Soft Suede on to Very Vanilla cardstock and cut apart to adhere around the bird. For a finishing touch I added a single Petal Pink Rhinestone Gem. Always have to have a little “Bling”!!
Let’s Alter!
For this next card I started with another Bird Ballad Laser Cut card. However, this time I chose to cut out the centre of the design.
Here are the pretty centre pieces that I cut out.

After I removed these centres, I stamped some random images from the Free As A Bird stamp set on to the Crumb Cake cardstock. Then attached it to the inside front in the same manner I explained earlier.

Doesn’t that create such a wonderfully elegant frame for the card?
Once again I fussy-cut the fabulous bird and flower images straight from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. It is just so pretty I can’t resist!
The sentiment on this card is also from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, “A Little Note” is perfect for the cards I’m making. I stamped the words with Crumb Cake ink on to a strip of Pool Party cardstock. Of course for the final touch I added a few little Pearl Basic Jewels for the “bling”.
I love how simple and quick these cards were to make.
Sadly, both the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin are on the last chance list. They have both been discounted and are available until June 2nd OR while supplies last.
