Quick & Easy Catching Butterflies Card

Hello, welcome and happy Friday! Wow can you believe that we are already half way through January! Stampin’ Up!® Sale-a-Bration promotion is in full swing and today I want to show you a card I made using the Catching Butterflies stamp set. Isn’t it cute! The images in the Catching Butterflies stamp set are so sweet and are perfect for creating quick & easy cards.

I started with a Pool Party card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored in half to create a tent fold card. Next I added a panel of Flirty Flamingo 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″. I stamped the little girl image and the two butterflies using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on to a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White and then added that adorable stitched border. To create this border I used the Stitched With Whimsy Dies from the Annual Catalogue and rolled it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I LOVE❤ how it turned out … the stitching adds the perfect touch! These dies come with a wonderful assortment of 6 different shapes and sizes, be sure to check them out if you haven’t already … they are a must have!!

I coloured the images using my Stampin’ Blends; Soft Seafoam, So Saffron, Ivory, and Flirty Flamingo. Once it was all coloured in I then outlined it with my light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend to make it “pop”. This is one of my favourite little colouring hacks 😉. I attached this finished piece to the card and then added the sentiment stamped on a 3/8″ x 3″ strip of Pool Party and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the finishing touch I added 4 Basic Rhinestones by the butterflies and voila … a quick & easy Catching Butterflies card!
