Sketch Challenge Fun: Friendly Seagulls & Adorable Owls

Hello, stamping friends! Today, I’m excited to share fun sketch challenge projects featuring two fantastic Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration stamp sets—Friendly Seagulls (current) and a flashback favourite, Adorable Owls (retired). These two cards were created during my Coffee & A Card morning video, showcasing how to use new and retired products to create fresh, exciting designs!

This layout was inspired by a Birdsnest Stampers team challenge sketch, making it a great way to spark creativity. Let’s take a closer look!

Friendly Seagulls Card – “Hey, Friend”

For the first card, I featured the Friendly Seagulls stamp set, bringing these adorable birds to life with Stampin’ Blends in Flirty Flamingo, Wild Wheat, Smoky Slate, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight. Each seagull has its own personality, and the sentiment “I love you MORE than French Fries” adds a fun, playful touch!

To enhance the design, I added:
✔ Flirty Flamingo Baker’s Twine for extra texture
✔ Three Flirty Flamingo Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots for a pop of color
✔ Layered the stamped panels on Stampin’ Dimensionals

Adorable Owls Card – “Hoot! Hoot!”

The second card features the Adorable Owls stamp set, a retired Sale-a-Bration favourite that many of you may have in your stash! These cute owls were coloured with Stampin’ Blends in Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight, and their sweet expressions make this the perfect birthday card.

Get started with these measurements to prep your materials:

• Night of Navy card base 4-/4 x 11 scored at 5-1/2
• Balmy Blue cardstock 2-1/4 x 5-1/4
• Basic White cardstock (3) 1-1/2 x 3 and 4 x 5-1/4 for inside
