Stampin' Up! Whimsical Trees & Stitched Snowflakes • Birdsnest Designs

Happy Friday Friends! Today’s card combines the feature of the week, Whimsical Trees and the awesome Stitched Snowflakes dies.

Getting the inspiration from the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper, I have chosen a non-traditional Christmas colour theme to use on this card. This is a great combo of Stampin’ Up! colours.

I started the card off with a Misty Moonlight card base then layered a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock. Using the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder (snowflakes) I embossed a piece of Basic White to use as the background for the rest of the card design. I really like these embossed snowflakes!

The strip of DSP in the middle is from the Whimsy & Wonder collection which sadly is no longer available. You could create a very similar look by using a Misty Moonlight pattern piece from the 2020-2022 In-Color Designer Series Paper stack. Next I wrapped the Blushing Bride Frayed Grosgrain ribbon around and then tied a cute little bow that I adhered with Mini Glue Dots. The lovely sentiment is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink and then layered on a Tailored Tag punched out of Blushing Bride cardstock.

The trees are cut out of Mossy Meadow cardstock using both tree sizes from the Christmas Trees dies. The three different snowflakes are cut from the Stitched Snowflakes dies … I am loving that stitched detail on each one. All of these dies are attached to the card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. These come in so handy when you are wanting to add dimension to these smaller or intricate shapes. Of course the card needed just a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to add a touch of sparkle!
