Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop September 2022 – Celebrate Sunflowers

Hello and welcome … it is so nice to see you!

Thank you for joining us for the Scrapbooking Global September Blog Hop. This month’s challenge was to use a sketch that was chosen by Scrapbooking Global Design Team Member Courtenay Heuston .  I am excited to share my interpretation of this sketch with my Celebrate Sunflowers scrapbook layout.

I LOVE Sunflowers and so when I saw them on the sketch challenge I couldn’t unsee them … you know what I mean?  So I pulled out my Celebrate Sunflowers bundle and got to work designing.

Celebrate Sunflowers Stampin' Up! Scrapbook Layout

I got a little ‘wild and crazy’ with all of the different patterns and Designer Series Papers that I incorporated on to this page.  Typically I start with a solid or more neutral background but today I ventured outside of my comfort zone.  AND I am happy to say that I love how it looks!  The background page is from Texture Chic and the rounded square pattern can be found in the Rustic Harvest collection, I thought they complimented each other nicely.

Stampin' Up! Colour Combination on the layout are Evening Evergreen, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and Petal Pink

The greenery in behind the sunflowers are cut from another sheet of Texture Chic Designer Series Paper using the Forever Flourishing dies.  Amazing seemed like the perfect title for this page and I cut that using gold metallic specialty paper and the Amazing Thanks dies.

Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop August 2022

Hello and welcome … it is so nice to see you!

Thank you for joining us for the Scrapbooking Global August Blog Hop. This month’s theme is one that I have really enjoyed and was chosen by Scrapbooking Global Design Team Member Sherry Roth.  I am excited to share my Abigail Rose scrapbook layout with you today!

Whether you are starting here or have hopped on over from another blog be prepared for some awesome scrapbooking inspiration today.  Near the bottom of this post you will find the full list of participants in this hop – be sure to check them all out!

Our challenge as part of this month’s blog hop was to choose a line on the Tic Tac Toe board and incorporate all of those elements into a scrapbook layout using Stampin’ Up!® products.  I love polka dots so I decided to use the left most vertical line on the board: Use a sketch, polka dots & kraft cardstock.  Here’s the sketch I chose to use.

Sketch for scrapbook layout theme
Stampin' Up! Abigail Rose DSP scrapbook layout

I have been wanting to use the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper for a while, but until now I wasn’t sure how I wanted to use it.  This paper is so pretty and the floral images are nice and big … perfect for scrapbooking!

Let’s Make It!

  • I started with a base page of Petal Pink 12″ x 12″ cardstock
  • Next I ran a 6″x 6″ and a 4-1/2″ x 6″ piece of Kraft cardstock through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine with the Spots & Dots dies ( polka dots ?)
  • I adhered the two pieces side-by-side to the top half of the layout
  • Next a wrapped a piece of Natural Finish 7/8″ ribbon across the layout directly below the kraft cardstock, adhered it in the back and tied a knot at the front on the right hand side
  • I created the Early Espresso photo mat with a piece measuring 6-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ and then attached two pieces of Very Vanilla 3″ x 4-1/2″, and adhered this to the page with dimensionals
  • Then I used the largest hexagon die from the Beautiful Shapes dies and die cut ten from an different sheets of the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper, set and tucked them on the page then adhered them using dimensionals on some for extra depth
  • From the Abigail Rose DSP I fussy cut 3 sets of florals and adhered with dimensionals to the layout
  • To add a little touch of colour to the flowers I used Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink and Fresh Freesia ink with my Water Painters
  • Lastly I scattered a few Rustic Metallic ADhesive-Backed Dots around the layout

Sale-A-Bration promotion is still on until the end of the month.  One of the items that you can get for free with a $120 CDN order is the Dots & Spots die that I used to create the polka dots.  It is such a fun die to use and is regularily priced at $44CDN.  Now’s the perfect time to visit my online store, place an order of $120CDN and get it for FREE!!

Pick of the Crop: Paper Pumpkin Alternate Projects

Pick of the Crop: Paper Pumpkin Alternate Projects

Hello and welcome!

Today’s post is all about the berry-awesome June 2022 Paper Pumpkin kit.  The Pick of the Crop Paper Pumpkin kit is bursting with fabulous picnic themed images and fun summer colours.

I was so excited when I found the Pick of the Crop Paper Pumpkin kit was delivered to my doorstep.  I knew from the little hints Stampin’ Up! gave us that this was one kit I was really going to like.  And I was not wrong! The picnic theme is so much fun.  When I sat down to create a few alternate projects I was pleasantly surprised at how the ideas just kept coming.  I can’t wait to share my creations with you, but first look at everything that was included in this kit!!

If you are a current Paper Pumpkin subscriber you can purchase refills for the Paper Pumpkin kit HERE through my online store.

Alternate picnic themed scrapbook layout made with the Pick of the Crop Paper Pumpkin kit for June 2022

When I first sat in my craftroom with this kit I made one of each card the way it is suggested on the instruction sheet.  I must say that I was very pleased with the designs.  Doing this helped me to get familiar with the pieces and get that creative mojo going.

The larger die cuts are perfect for a scrapbook page so that is where I started.  Just by adding in a bit of cardstock and cloud die cuts this layout came together nicely… I can’t wait to take some photos this summer to display on it.

I came up with four additional card designs using elements from the Pick of the Crop kit and a few additional Stampin’ Up! items.  There is a full list of the additional items I’ve used at the bottom of today’s post.

Finally I really wanted to create something that would show off the fun stamp set.  So I had the idea to stamp on a white peekaboo treat bag!  It turned out so cute and I found some strawberry candies to fill the bag with too.  Wouldn’t this make a fun little surprise and delight for someone!

If you are not already a Paper Pumpkin subscriber and would like to get in on the fun of this monthly subscription box of fun go ahead and click the subscrbe button below.  Each month I send all of my Paper Pumpkin customers a full PDF of the alternate projects I create that month, this is just one way I like to say thank you for choosing me as your Stampin’ Up! Days To Remember: Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop June 2022

Days To Remember: Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop June 2022

Hello, welcome … I am so glad that you are here!

Thank you for joining us for the Scrapbooking Global June Blog Hop. This month’s theme is a calculated one chosen by Scrapbooking Global Design Team Member Julia Quinn. I am excited to share my Days to Remember scrapbook layout with you today!

Whether you are starting here or have hopped on over from another blog be prepared for some awesome inspiration today. Near the bottom of this post you will find the full list of participants in this hop – be sure to check them all out!

Oh how I love this scrapbook blog hop and am excited to be joining in again this month. Numbers was a challenging theme for me.  I wasn’t sure where to take it or where to start.  After a lot of thought I decided to go with the only thing that popped into my brain when I thought of Number today…. Double Trouble! 2… 2… 2!

We welcomed two sibling puppies, Linus & Lucy, into our home last fall and it has been a fun and crazy 8 months since.  Two puppies is a lot of work but we also get twice as many puppy snuggles which makes it all worthwhile.  So for today’s layout I have spun the numbers challenge to create this layout.

Stampin' Up! Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop June 2022 Double Trouble Page

Having decided on the subjects of the layout it was now time to find Stampin’ Up! product that would compliment the theme.  I have used the Days to Remember stamp set and stamped it in the background in Sahara Sand to get all those wonderful numbers.  I also heat embossed this same stamp with clear embossing powder in the background to create a little glossy texture.  You really can’t see it in the pictures but it adds a nice subtle touch.

Are you loving those adorable little paw prints?  Get excited because those are from a stamp set called North Pole Mischief that you’ll find in the upcoming June – December Mini Catalogue.  I randomly stamped the paw print in sets of two around the background paper too.  Then I used a Black Stampin’ Write Marker to create the splatter effect.

Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop June 2022 Double Trouble Page

I strayed away from a typical pattern when I cut the hexagons for this layout.  The Beautiful Shapes dies have a number of various sized hexagons, so I cut a few of each and staggered them together on my page.  The Designer Series Paper I have used is from the awesome He’s The Man collection.

I have also used a few of the laser cut embellishments that are included on the die cut sheets of the He’s The Man DSP.   I even added some journaling on one of those die cuts.

Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop June 2022 Double Trouble Page

I created the entire backdrop for my Days To Remember Double Trouble scrapbook layout using a very neutral colour scheme of Sahara Sand and Basic Black.  Then I popped a little colour behind the smaller square images.  I used some blue – Night of Navy – behind Linus (black with white puppy) and pink – Melon Mambo – behind Lucy (white with black puppy).

Oh and did I mention that these two are little rascals?!?!   Linus always seems to have mischief on his mind … that’s him trying to lick the layout as I was trying to take photos …. oh my they keep us hopping … LOL!

I was able to create this layout using all current Stampin’ Up! products that you can purchase HERE on my online store except for the dies that I used to cut out those wonderful large number 2s.  Those have been retired for quite a while now but were perfect for the June Numbers theme.

These pages are the ones that I designed for my monthly Scrapbook Club for March. Each member received a kit with all of the pieces and instructions to complete the double You’re A Peach layout. This gorgeous designer series paper and assortment of die cut and punched flowers makes for a wonderfully colourful spring themed layout. I love all of the versatility and possibilities of Stampin’ Up! products.

All of the lovely spring themed embellishments are created using a variety of current product. The peaches are fussy-cut from the DSP, flowers are die cut from coordinating colours using the Pierced Blooms Dies and daisies created using both daisy punches. To add some greenery I punched some leaves out of Pear Pizzazz cardstock using the Bough Punch and tucked them in with the flowers.

My passion for scrapbooking started over 20 years ago when my sons where just babies and before I had discovered Stampin’ Up!. My paper crafting journey definitely started then as I created albums full of layouts to hold all of our family’s precious memories. When I became a demonstrator 11+ years ago I introduced Stampin’ Up! products into my pages and loved it so much that the very first class/club I held was a monthly scrapbook club. I am so happy to say that this many years later and 120+ layouts created I am still offering this club and loving it!

If you live in Canada and would like to join my monthly scrapbook club now is the time to join!! Registration is open to start with the April “Cute As A Bug” layout kit until April 1st.
