Oh how I love this scrapbook blog hop and am excited to be joining in again this month. Happy Birthday is such a fun and practical theme … we all have birthday photos to ‘scrap’!!
When I sat down to start creating this layout I honestly had no idea or direction on what I was going to do. SO … I stood in front of my stamp shelf, looking through them all and pulling out any that were ‘birthday’ theme. And that is how today’s layout got started. How do you decide what to use and where to start when you are scrapping?

Out of the stack of stamp sets I pulled out I decided on Biggest Wish and Party Puffins. Both of these stamp sets are fabulous and combined they made for a really fun layout. I also pulled out some of my Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper, my black Stampin’ Write Marker and the Quiet Meadow stamp set to get those amazing dots or splotches in the background.

To start off I die cut the largest circle from the Layering Circles dies out of the Designer Series Paper and adhered them to the Basic White 12″ x 12″ page. Next I took this same die and and used it to trace the circles with my Stampin’ Write Marker to create the offset line circles. I then stamped the splotches from the Quiet Meadow stamp around the circles in the matching colours. Background created!!
Using both of the ‘happy’ stamps and the bold ‘birthday’ stamp from the Biggest Wish set I heat embossed them on to Basic Black cardstock, flagged the ends and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next I added the piece of Mint Macaron cardstock on the left -hand side of the page and added the photo frames matted with Basic Black.
I stamped, fussy cut and coloured the images from the Party Puffin stamp set and scattered them about the page adhering them with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To add the final touch I added a few Playing With Patterns Resin Dots (oh how I love these little gems❤) along the black line circles.

I had a lot of fun playing and stamping in my craft room to create this birthday themed layout. Now to find some fabulous pictures to add … I am thinking that some beautiful black and white shots would be lovely!

Oh WOW this is a stunner!! I just loooove those hand drawn circles with the paper. You’re so clever – I would never think of this in a million years – and it looks totally awesome. This page is so much fun and the puffins are just perfect. Thankyou for your amazing inspiration.
WOWSERS Denise this layout is so CUTE!!! I did almost the exact same thing as you stood in front of my stamp sets and picked out a whole heap and then chose dies that I wanted to use and the rainbow paper….I cannot believe we used some of the same products for our layouts. Black and White photos on that layout would look AWESOME!!!
Thanks for joining in the Blog Hop again this month <3 Cheers Shaz
This is so cute. I love the Biggest Wish set. Great tips on how to ‘start’ which can often be the biggest hurdle.
I absolutely adore this Party Puffin page! Great use of all the elements including the hand drawn circles. Very clever idea! Thank you for sharing.
