Summer is the time for camping, exploring and fun adventures! The Adventure Begins Paper Pumpkin kit for July has all of this covered and more! I love everything thing about this kit … from the fabulous stamp set, the fun die cut images, new layering techniques and even the fabulous Garden Green stamp spot.
I am super excited to share with you the amazing alternate projects that my talented sister has created for us this month. If you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber with me be sure to check your inbox for the full PDF document for these alternate projects.

WOW – what a kit and what a creative adventure!! This month’s Paper Pumpkin box was so full of fun patterned pieces, camping images and perfect greetings – I totally fell in love with it! The Adventure Begins July Paper Pumpkin kit was so fun to create with!

I must admit that when I first saw the card fronts all I could see were photo mats, and then I just couldn’t unsee them ? So here was my first creation, an envelope mini scrapbook. Yep, that’s right – the album is made from the envelopes!

Then still seeing those photo mats – lol – I knew this kit would also make an awesome 12×12 scrapbook layout for one of our many camping adventures.

Notice the swirl pattern on the trees? Such a fun and easy technique. I have no idea what it’s called, or if it has a name, but it was fun, and a little messy! For the green trees I inked up the tree image using Granny Apple Green and then added darker ink to the outside edges of the stamp by lightly rolling it in the Garden Green ink pad. Then the fun part! Using your finger very slightly swirl the ink around on the stamp until you get this marble effect – then stamp, so easy! Just remember to always use the light colour first, you don’t want to transfer a dark colour onto your light ink pad. And yep, your finger will be stained for a few days!
With still tons of great stuff left in The Adventure Begins kit I created a few additional cards as well. Although the original cards were super fun, I was tasked to come up with some alternatives, so here they are!

The winter card has little sneak peaks of a soon to be released stamp set called Welcoming Woods from the upcoming August – December Mini Catalogue. It added the perfect snowy elements to turn a summer card into winter.
I hope that you’ve started your Paper Pumpkin adventure already so that you did not miss out on this amazing kit. But if not, it’s never too late to start! August’s kit has promised to be fluttering with hope, and I can’t wait to see it.
