May Paper Pumpkin Reveal

Hello and welcome!! Today I want to share with you my May Paper Pumpkin reveal. This kit is so bright and cheery and the whimsical rainbows are adorable!!

Even the box it arrived in is super pretty!!

I posted a quick reveal video over on my YouTube Channel. If you haven’t subscribed to my channel yet you may have missed it!! Here it is …

After seeing what this fun monthly kit included I got right to creating. I did one of each of the 3 card designs exactly as outlined on the instruction sheet. Here they are.

I really like these designs but I was feeling creative and inspired by all of these fabulous elements. So, I went rogue and designed a few Paper Pumpkin Alternate projects of my own,

First up is a single 12 x 12 scrapbook layout. Wouldn’t a couple of cute summer photos look great on here?

The creating didn’t stop there. I made a few more cards switching up the elements and layout of each. I am really happy with how they came together!! These colourful, cheerful cards will be perfect to send out to my friends and family.

If you are new to Paper Pumpkin I hope that this post has shown you how great these monthly surprise kits are. If you are currently a subscriber I hope that this post has given you some alternate ideas to try!

It’s A Birthday Bonanza!

Hello and welcome! It’s a birthday bonanza in my world for the month of May. I have so many friends and family members to celebrate this month πŸ™‚

When the January – June 2020 Mini Catalogue was released I immediately fell in love with the Birthday Bonanza Suite. This fantastic grouping of products are perfect for creating any and all things Birthday!! The colours are bright, images and sentiments are fun, there are even little printed cello bags that could be filled with a birthday treat!

My first product based class from this catalogue featured the fabulous Birthday Bonanza Suite and it was a hit!! So without further adieu let me show you these amazing products πŸ™‚

Birthday Bonanza Suite

Do you know one of the great things about this product suite? You can actually use the Bonanza Dies to cut images right from the Designer Series Paper (DSP). This makes for quick and easy projects as it eliminates the need to stamp and colour.

Let’s Create!

In addition to loving these products I also love the samples that are displayed in the catalogue. The creations in the photo below were all C.A.S.E’d (Copy And Share Everything) from page 34. I made a few little tweaks to make them my own but the overall project design came straight from the catalogue!

Here are a couple more cards that I made using these super fun products. Again the card on the bottom may look familiar, take a look at page 5 of the January – June Mini Catalogue.

Looking for Inspiration

Inspirations can come from many different sources. I encourage you to look at the Stampin’ UP! catalogues as an idea book, there are many great samples that can be recreated, tweaked and made to be your own! Sometimes we just need that little jump start to get the creativity flowing πŸ™‚

I thoroughly enjoy using the Birthday Bonanza Suite in my papercrafting. Sadly these items are on the retiring items list, but I am happy to have them in my personal stash!! I know that this is one set that I will use for years to come.

Thank you for popping in today. I hope that you get to enjoy some crafty time yourself very soon.

Over the Moon

Hello and welcome! In today’s post I want to share with you the super adorable Over the Moon stamp set. I saw these fabulous little cows on the Last Chance list, and immediately pulled the stamp set out and got to creating. I sure am going to miss this set!

The cute little cows are udderly irresistable and the sentiments are priceless!! Over the Moon is definitely on my list of favourites from the current Annual catalogue!

Today’s cards both feature the sweet image of the cow holding the flower. This guy is just perfect for Spring with his little rain boots and the daisy too!! For both cards I have used the same layout sketch. To change them out I just switched up the colours, the Designer Series Paper (DSP) and used a different embossing folder on each.

Over the Moon meets Purple Posy

For this first card I chose a card base of Purple Posy to give it a nice soft pastel feel, perfect for Spring.

The second layer (4 x 5.25″) of cardstock is embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder. This product is so versatile, I am very pleased to see that it is carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue in June. Every paper crafter should definitely have this embossing folder in their stash!

I added in a bit of Pretty Peacock for big contrast against the Purple Posy. The perfectly coordinating DSP is found in the Best Dressed paper pack. Of course the card needs a little “bling” so I added three 2019-2021 In-colour faceted dots for that finishing touch.

Deep and Rich Blackberry Bliss

My second card has a bit of a different look to it by simply switching up the key components. I used Blackberry Bliss cardstock in place of the Purple Posy from the first card. For the second layer I used the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder rather than the Brick & Mortar. And I chose different patterns from Best Dressed DSP. I still used the Faceted Dots but just switched up the colour.

I really enjoyed using this sketch layout in designing these cards and will certainly be using it again!

Springtime Birds

Hello and welcome. I am so glad that you have popped in today!

Spring is here. I love hearing all the little birds singing in the early morning. One of my favourite Suites from the current 2019-2021 Annual Catalogue is Bird Ballad. I love everything from the beautiful imagery in the stamp set, the fun soft colours in the Designer Series Paper and the versatility of the Stitched Nested Labels dies. Using this product suite you can create anything from fun & whimsical to purely elegant!

Today I want to share with you the lovely Laser-Cut cards that come as part of this suite. They are fabulous!! Just look at how pretty they are all on their own in that photo above … Love them!

I sat down the other night to create a few cards to send out. I find I am sending out quite a few more cards lately …. Random Acts of Kindness I guess you could say πŸ™‚ Nothing like receiving a handmade card to brighten your day!!

Let’s Get Creative!

I pulled out my Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards from their stunning Petal Pink tin (did you see that beauty in the top photo?) and created two different cards.

The first card I left the intricate front of the card intact. I chose Pool Party cardstock and layered that on the inside of the card front. This really makes the laser cut design ‘pop’! To adhere this I used a thin line of Multi-Purpose adhesive and cut the cardstock just slightly, (1/8″), smaller than the card itself. This works perfectly and I didn’t get any excess adhesive seeping through.

Next I cut a strip of the pretty Designer Series Paper 2″ wide and flagged it using the Triple Banner punch and adhered it straight on to the front of the card. I used the Stitched Shapes and Layering Circles dies to cut out the circles and the scallop circle using Very Vanilla, Pool Party and Soft Suede cardstock.

Now for those amazing birds!! I fussy cut those darling little birdies straight from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. They are adorable and not too hard to cut πŸ™‚

I pulled out my Butterfly Gala stamp set for the sentiment on the card. This particular one “You’ve been on my mind” was very appropriate for the cards I was creating. I stamped it with Soft Suede on to Very Vanilla cardstock and cut apart to adhere around the bird. For a finishing touch I added a single Petal Pink Rhinestone Gem. Always have to have a little “Bling”!!

Let’s Alter!

For this next card I started with another Bird Ballad Laser Cut card. However, this time I chose to cut out the centre of the design.

Here are the pretty centre pieces that I cut out.

After I removed these centres, I stamped some random images from the Free As A Bird stamp set on to the Crumb Cake cardstock. Then attached it to the inside front in the same manner I explained earlier.

Doesn’t that create such a wonderfully elegant frame for the card?

Once again I fussy-cut the fabulous bird and flower images straight from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. It is just so pretty I can’t resist!

The sentiment on this card is also from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, “A Little Note” is perfect for the cards I’m making. I stamped the words with Crumb Cake ink on to a strip of Pool Party cardstock. Of course for the final touch I added a few little Pearl Basic Jewels for the “bling”.

I love how simple and quick these cards were to make.

Sadly, both the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper and the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin are on the last chance list. They have both been discounted and are available until June 2nd OR while supplies last.

What’s the Buzz?

Hello and Welcome!

Have you seen the ever popular Honey Bee Bundle? The products in this bundle are Oh, so sweet!! The adorable bumble bee, hive and floral images are paired perfectly with sentiments of friendship and support.

I have enjoyed using this bundle endless times. Today I want to share just three of the sweet cards that I have created.

Aren’t they fun? I have used the traditional yellow and black colour scheme for these lovely Bumble Bee cards, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black.

I have used the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper on all three cards. This paper was available through Sale-a-Bration 2020 promotion. As this promotion has ended this paper is no longer available. Keep reading to the bottom of this post for a special offer πŸ™‚

A Closer Look

Notice the little yellow hexagons, they are the remaining pieces cut from the little honeycomb die and are attached using mini stampin’ dimensionals. I love that fantastic stamped bee image. And it is even sweeter that it can be cut out with the co-ordinating Detailed Bee Dies.

These stitched circles from the Stitched Shapes dies are perfect size to layer behind both of the fun little bees. To add some extra dimension I popped both up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Usually I refer to these little foam gems as “Bump-its”.

Thirdly, I made this card which uses the stamped beehive image and a fabulous golden bee cut from the Designer Series Paper. Both the first and third cards use the lovely 1/4″ ruched ribbon in Daffodil Delight. I was excited to see that this beautiful ribbon will be returning in the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue!

Unlike that pretty yellow ribbon and the fabulous Champagne Rhinestones both the Honey Bee stamp set and the Detailed Bee Dies are on the Last Chance Product list. That means that they will only be available to purchase until June 2nd or while supplies last.

What About that Paper?

Isn’t that Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper just stunning? I love the gold foil that is worked into the different pieces, it adds such a classy touch!

As I mentioned before, this paper pack is no longer available. Because it pairs so seamlessly with the Honey Bee Bundle that I’ve showcased today I have a special offer for you.

The next 8 people to order the Honey Bee Bundle will receive a FREE 6″ x 6″ sampler of this fabulous paper. The sampler will include two double-sided pieces of each, for a total of 12 pieces of 6″x6″ paper.

You can place your order through my online store. When checking out please use the April host code 7VDN6WAN or the current host code in the teal coloured banner at the top of the page.
