Welcome stamping friends, I am so happy you’ve stopped by! Today’s post is an adorably awesome gatefold explosion fun fold card I demonstrated for my Tutorial Tuesday Facebook live last night using the Hippest Hippos Bundle. The Hippest Hippos stamp set and coordinating Hippo Dies are both exclusive Sale-a-Bration items that you can choose for FREE with a $60 order starting on Friday, July 1st! If you don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and would like a copy of the Sale-A-Bration brochure you can request a copy here. I’d love to send you one to anywhere in Canada!

This Gatefold Explosion card is a super fun card fold that looks difficult but is actually pretty easy once you get started. I love how it shows off the soft subtle Petal Pink Designer Series Paper. In the live video tutorial I did last night I switched up the colours and instead of Petal Pink I used Highland Heather. It turned out really nice and just goes to show how with the coordination of Stampin’ Up! products it is really easy to switch things up!

I found this card fold over on Simply Simple Stamping and knew that I just had to give it a try! I was very pleased and a little surprised at how simple and fun it was to create. You can check out that post HERE .
Here are the measurements and pieces that you will need to recreate a gatefold explosion card of your own. These pieces are to make the Petal Pink card as pictured on this post.
- Petal Pink card base 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 2-1/8″ on both ends
- Petal Pink: 3″ x 4-1/2″ for card front, 2-3/4′” x 2-3/4″ for inside center
- Gray Granite: 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″ for card front
