Kindest Gnomes: Christmas In July • Birdsnest Designs

Hello stamping friends and welcome! Today’s post wraps up my weekly share of the wonderfully adorable Kindest Gnomes stamp set. It’s Christmas in July on the blog today! These little gnomes make such cute cards for all occasions and Christmas is no exception.

At the beginning of the week I shared that the Storybook Gnomes Suite is my #1 pick from the new July-December Mini Catalogue. After playing and stamping them all week I can honestly tell you that the Kindest Gnomes have stolen my heart!

I know that Christmas is the furthest thing from most of our minds when the nice Summer weather has just arrived, but, it will be here before we know it. I have decided to create and share a Christmas in July card each Friday this month. This will be a fun challenge for me and hopefully give you a little inspiration for the holiday cards you will want to create this year.

Colour combination for today’s card

I used a softer, subtler colour palette for today’s card. I chose to use Soft Suede, Soft Succulent, Pool Party and Night of Navy. The colour combination came from the winter themed Designer Series Paper I chose from the Storybook Gnomes paper pack. PLUS I wanted to challenge myself to use something other than bright, bold colours for the gnomes on this card.

Let’s Create the Kindest Gnomes Christmas Card

Start with a Soft Suede cardstock measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and score in half at 4-1/4″
Add a Pool Party cardstock piece to the card front that measures 4″ x 5-1/4″
Cut a piece of the winter mountain theme paper from the Storybook Gnomes DSP to 3-3/4″ x 5″ and attach to the Pool Party cardstock
Die cut from Basic White cardstock the largest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies, adhere it to the card front as a diamond on the left side
On another piece of Basic White stamp the two gnomes using Memento Black ink and die cut with coordinating Gnomes dies
Colour the gnomes using Stampin’ Blends … see the product list at the end of this post to see the colours that I used
Attach one of the Wonderful Snowflake to the diamond and then attach the gnomes with Stampin’ Dimensionals
Stamp the sentiment with black ink on to Pool Party cardstock and die cut with the banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies
Attach the banner to the card with dimensionals
Complete the front of the card by adding a few of the Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems
Don’t forget to show the inside of your card some love too! The Basic White panel is 4″ x 5-1/4″ and I have stamped and coloured the little girl gnome then added a 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the DSP that I used on the front
